Position Description

The Arc of the St. Johns is looking for 1 full time Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. (BCaBA) This position is to work with individuals with I/DD in the St. Johns County area.

Key Responsibilities:

Behavior Intervention and Program Development:

- Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for individuals based on assessments and individual service plans (ISPs).
- Use tools such as the AFLS (Assessment of Functional Living Skills) to track progress and inform intervention planning.
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA) and develop appropriate behavioral goals and interventions.

-Follow guidelines, submission mandates, and oversight regulations based on ethical, legal, and funding source requirements

Staff Training and Development:

- Provide training to staff on behavior management techniques, person-centered interaction strategies, and habilitative goals.
- Deliver on-the-job coaching and feedback to staff to ensure fidelity in the implementation of behavioral interventions.
- Collaborate with the Residential Supervisor of Program to identify staff training needs based on program performance.

Monitoring and Compliance Audits:

- Conduct bi-weekly audits of BIP implementation, including data collection, documentation compliance, and staff adherence to protocols.
- Review and audit BIP consents, ISPs, and behavioral data to ensure alignment with goals and compliance with state and licensing requirements (e.g., 65G.2).
- Ensure interventions align with individual rights and address any rights restrictions in compliance with policies.


Collaboration and Coordination:

- Act as a liaison between the residential staff, clinical team, and families/guardians to ensure coordinated care.
- Collaborate with the Residential Supervisor of Program to provide updates on progress and recommend necessary adjustments to intervention plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide feedback on the effectiveness of behavioral programming.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

- Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of interventions and make data-driven decisions.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports detailing program outcomes and areas for improvement.
- Track individual progress and provide regular feedback to the Residential Supervisor of Program and staff.


Qualifications:

- Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCaBA) and current licensure as required by state regulations.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
- Strong skills in behavioral assessment, intervention planning, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with person-centered practices and compliance with licensing standards.
- Ability to train staff and provide constructive feedback.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Reasoning Ability:

The BCaBA must have the ability to analyze behavioral data, develop intervention plans, and make informed decisions based on individual progress. Must also be capable of communicating effectively with staff, families, and guardians, ensuring the consistent application of behavior plans across settings.
